Soul book start

Image
Well I finally did it!!!  I started out my soul book!  I'm so happy about that because I have been wanting to do something to document this year and having a hard time to commit to something. This seems like something that I can totally do.  I have found the soul book via the youtube channel of Christie B and you can also find her blog here . And I had been super lucky to have a great shop owner on Etsy give me one of her beautiful mandalas.  You can see the mandala that I used here .  It's from Coloring Craft Shack. I have made a video to share with you all my mental process through this.  It was quite emotional and unexpected.  I didn't start of thinking that I would do this entire page... it just happened. And here is the journaling spread that I have made. As my son said this is totally not my typical style... but I really love how it turned out.  It's the start page of the book.  I used some acrylic paints, a stencil, a stamp from Eclectica and some

Spring Bud Hippo - Sandra Caldwell new release

Hello and happy Friday everyone!  What a week.  I have been working later at work... this means getting home later... preparing the meal later and obviously after eating well it's time for bed... almost anyway lol.  This means no crafty time for me and I miss it!!! But because it's Friday it also means that there are new release over at Sandra Caldwell's etsy store.  And you can find this super cute Spring Bud Hippo there. I made a video of the process of this. And here is a closer look at my mixed media journaling out of the box.  The sentiment was found online and typed on a word document and then torn out. I used a bunch of left over papers for this as well as a silicone mat for stamping.  The texture paste is from Heidi Swapp.  I colored the super cute hippo with my copics and then fussy cut her out.  I added a bit of sparkly washi at the bottom so that she is kind of doing a tight rope split lol. I'm entering this mixed media piece in the following

Lucy Loo "sniff" - The East Wind new release

Image
Well there's a brand new release image by Unky over at the East Wind Etsy store . And because it's a Lucy Loo I just HAD to play with her. However I'm very sad because I made a video to share with you all and my memory card bugged... and so the video didn't register properly :( I was playing in one of my junk journal, the one that I made for my vacation last year but didn't really use. I found a sentiment in a magazine that I thought would go well with her. The background to the page is done in Panpastel.  I had done the entire book that way to have some sort of background.  I used some of my newest washis :)  love love love washi (you can see my haul's videos about that lol).  The image was colored with my copics and then I fussy cut her out.  I added some gel roll pen to her wings.  I also used a silicone mat to do some stamping.  And I got some paper scraps from a fellow youtuber and used some of it here. I'm entering this journaling in the fo

Opening Flower - Alphabet journaling

Image
Hey everyone!  Hope you are having a fabulous weekend.  I'm still sort of out of it.... the vacation made it hard for me to get back into a routine.  I'm kind of out of it.  And because of the vacation I'm a day late to share this make with the great new release freebie image of The East Wind. All you need to do to be able to get this great image is to register for the news letter!  And you can find the newsletter registration on this site . I wanted to play in one of my other journals.  One that has been quite neglected actually.  Last year after seeing KagedFish on youtube show her alphabet scavenger hunt I thought I would do the same thing.  So I set up a book to use for that.  But you know me.... I have trouble just gluing papers down without putting some sort of journaling to it.... so I ended up using it for alphabet but with some digital images and basically journaling but with alphabet.  And then I just let it be and didn't play in it anymore... So today i

I have some birthdays coming up and I really needed to get going on making some cards.  I have been slacking in that respect recently. There's a totally fabulous sale over at Sandra Caldwell's Etsy store and it's up until the 3rd of April.  There are tons of images for 1.5$ instead of 3$.  Such a great great deal!!!! For this card I'm using the Rosie Chick image.  And I wasn't sure what to do for this card so I went and checked out Wednesday Sketch over at Outlawz and as usual they had a great sketch which ended up being the base for my make. Here is my card The paper that I used for this is from Kaisercraft - Confetti.  I added a little ribbon, a flower from prima.  The image was cut using the grand nestabilities oval dies.  I used a great sentiment that my friend Lisa from Decosse dynamite Doodles .  The image was colored with my copics.
