Hummingbird - Karleigh Sue

I finally got another page done for my calendar for another post for Karleigh Sue !  I had never used this super cute image, don't know why because I totally should have.  The one I'm talking about is the wonderful  Hummingbird . I looked at a few hummingbird photos to decide how I should color this little one.  I ended up doing the blues and green and I'm really happy with how he turned out. Adriana's Owl - Karleigh Sue make

Image
Hello!  It's been awhile since I last posted directly on the Karleigh Sue blog .  Usually it's done in a group blog post.  Since there isn't going to be a new release this month we got (the dt) to play with other images. Oldies but goodies! And that meant for me that I could do some more of my calendar pages for my grandmother.  I still had a few months to fill up and I really want this gift to be completed in time.  Feeling like Christmas is creeping up on me without me being ready.  YIKES. Anyway that gave me the opportunity to play yet again with the great digi  Adriana's Owl .  I think she was perfect for the month of November. Isn't she precious?!?  I think she is perfect for an handmade gift. I got the little leaves at Michael's in the dollar bin back 3 years ago?  I had purchased 2 bags... and well I don't use a lot per year so still have some left over.  The design paper was from my stash in my cut out pile.  The brown cardstock was purchas

Coffee time - Karleigh Sue

Hello!  Hope you have a great weekend so far.  In my case it's been fun.  Even with the rain - drizzle yesterday we did go to La Ronde - the 6 flag amusement park in Montreal.  It was fright fest!  And since I love Halloween I really wanted to see the scary house they had.  It was wonderfully done. Today we are supposed to go and visit some greenhouse that are located on top of some Montreal buildings.  I purchase a basket of vegetables from them every week and I'm very intrigued to see what it looks like! But for now I'm here to share with you what I made with one of the wonderful new digis from Karleigh Sue.  I had a swap to make which consisted of making some accordeon fold album.  I had fun making the 1st one and figured they would be fun little gifts.  So made one for a subscriber and also one for my stepmom.  She really loves her coffee (don't we all?!?) And the new image from Karleigh Sue called It's Coffee Season  was PERFECT to put as a cover image. I

I have been really really late in my making of Christmas card and I'm still very late... so when I saw this great image I thought it was perfect to have one more card done!  YAY me lol I used some papers that I had gotten with a magazine I believe.  I used my die cut circle from Spellbinder to cut out the sentiment and the cardboard underneath it.  The image itself was colored with my copics and then fussy cut.  To finish it off I added some Queen and Co bling in the top and bottom left corner. I'm really happy with how she turned out :) I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Crafty hazelnuts christmas challenge  - Anything goes Christmas Crafty hazelnuts christmas challenge2  - Anything goes Christmas 12 months of christmas  - Anything Christmas - and boy I should have continued to

Hello!  I'm here this time for September's inspiration over at Karleigh Sue!!!! WOW the year sure goes by fast.  The kids are already into school and it's back to the routine.  But I'm not ready to let my summer go.... and this means coloring by the pool. That's in fact what I did here for the background as well as for the wonderful digi  Nelsa . I really love using my coloring books as backgrounds and this way it will become a full journal when I'm finished with it.  I wanted this little fairy to be perched somewhere.  And the branches were just perfect. The image was colored with my copics and I used a gel pen to make her wings all shiny. The background was colored with my colorsoft derwent pencils.  The sentiment was found while researching on google. I'm entering this page in the following challenges: Broken fairy challenge  - Things with wings - anything goes The pencil cases  - Anything goes Crafting-with-friends  - Anything goes Creat

Sexy and I know it - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello!  I'm here to share with you my inspiration post for Karleigh Sue for the month of August.  I wanted this month to convince you to try to use all your left over paints and other medium for future use. In my case for this one I had made a brusho background and I used my little index card to wipe up the excess.  It was the perfect start to a background for the image  Sexy and I know it . I made a super short video to share with you the process here: And here's the view of the ICAD ( the term is used for Index card a Day - but most of us use it just to refer to an index card because not many actually do one a day....) Using leftovers like this really does jump start your creative process!!! This image was colored with copics and fussy cut.  I also have to admit to being totally ADICTED to magazine cut outs... so much fun using pre-typed sentiments this way. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Crafty sentiments  - Anything goes Digich

Queen Collector - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello!  It's the 30th of July and the halfway point of my vacation :( It's ok... still a week to go.  I'm preparing this post in advance but I know that this is what I will be feeling lol I'm here today to share with you an inspiration for Karleigh Sue digis .  The image that I'm using is the Queen Collector . I have to admit that I'm totally OBSESSED with colloring books as well as with coloring pencils.  So this image was the perfect for me!!! The image was colored with my copics as well as some zig pen for the crown.  The image was fussy cut afterwards.  I used my coloring pencils and my gel pens for the coloring book page. I really ADORE using my coloring book as a background.  Hoping that at the end my coloring book will be a nice journal. I found a quote about a collector online and wrote it in the middle.  I love how it personalized this even more and it was very appropriate :) Have a fab day and hope you are creative!!! Hugs

Ponytails and shotgun shells - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello!  It's time for a brand new release from  Karleigh Sue  and I'm using the wonderful image Ponytails and shotgun shells. I'm not a hunter, but I really ADORE the fact that the digis in this release are not the typical woman position digis!!!  We can do so much and this shows it :) Here is my make.  I made a double layout in my dylusions journal. I used my archival inks leaf green, fern green and potting soil to make the background and then I made background trees with a dylusion stamp from Dyan Reaveley.    I added some trees made out of scrap papers with my dies from Dienamites  - birch trees and bamboo stick.  I wrote the sentiment with alphabet letters that I had in my stash.  The digi was colored with my copics and I fussy cut her out. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Art by miran challenge  - Anything goes Crafting-with-friends  - anything goes Cut it up challenges  - anything goes Simply papercrafts for all occassions  - Anything

Primpin up - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello!  Happy Indepence Day to all our American friends!  I had my holiday on Friday being from Canada so today it's back to work I go.  I hope that you will get to enjoy this day with family or doing some crafting :) I'm here for my inspiration post of the month over at Karleigh Sue and this time I played with my "En Masse" journal.  This is a little junk journal that I made where I put down multiples of an image of something that I liked or that inspired me to collect it and glue it down.  There's something about glueing paper down that brings back the kid in us!!! Anyway, I can't do a simple glueing down... I seem to need to personalize it a bit and that's where the fabulous digis from Karleigh Sue came in.  The page that I'm sharing today is with a collection of lipstick and of course there was a PERFECT digi to go with this.  I also found an awesome sentiment while doing a google search and I thought it totally completed the pages. The digi

Jessica Jones - Karleigh Sue

Image
There was a fabulous new release this month over at  Karleigh Sue .  And today I get to share with you another one of them :) I chose to play with the wonderful  Jessica Jones .  I did this journaling page while I was away for a weekend with my friend Erin.  I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do.. but I had been playing with magazine cut out and saw this great page that I thought would work fabulously with her. The bottom part of the page is done with a brown paper bag that the wine purchased came in.  The sentiment was found online and then I stamped it out individually to make it.  I lined the paper with some newspaper :)  Yup recycling at it's best.  The wonderful image was colored with my copics.  I even made her a plaid shirt!  I was very proud of that.  And then I fussy cut her out. I will be entering this in the following challenges: ccee stampers  - Mixed media Aud sentiments challenge blog  - Funny Sentiment - I think this one is pretty funny Craft

Be a Unicorn - Karleigh Sue Digis

Image
Hello!  I'm here for my inspiration post of the month and I had fun journaling again. And I figured I would give you ideas at the same time on how to use up your left over papers, you know those scraps that we don't know what to do with?!? Here is the make using the wonderful image  Be a Unicorn Nude .  Well do you really think a unicorn would dress up?!?  It's already fabulous isn't it?!? The papers are all strips and they are double side papers so I was able to really match them up for the fun of it.  I used some black water color on the side of them when they were in the book to make it more uniform. The image was colored with my copics and I fussy cut her out and layered her on some black paper.  I used a white gell pen on the black left over papers to write out the sentiment. I'm entering this in the following challenges: Inspiration destination challenge blog  - Anything goes Rubys rainbow  - Anything but a card The papershelter  - I wrote a big s

Have you heard - Karleigh Sue digis

Image
Hello!  I'm here for my 2nd inspiration post of the month for Karleigh Sue and I had fun journaling again.  But this time just for the fun of it in a journal that I made some time ago and don't use enough! Here is the make using the wonderful image  Have you heard . Since it's an homemade journal the pages are from the book itself.  And the background came together as an accident because I had put too much brushos on the page on the other side.  When I closed the book to try to absorb some of it this is what happened :)  Love it when the background makes itself!  I use some prima metallic chalk edger in gold. The image was colored with my copics.  Hope you like it!!! I'm entering this in the following challenges: Snarky stampers  - N is for not a card Crafting in a beautiful mess  - Anything goes Art by miran challenge  - Anything goes 2 crafty girls challenges  - Anything goes Crafty-girls-creations  - Anything goes Have a fabulous Sunday and stay

Prince Tribute - Karleigh Sue

Image
While I was in Greece the world lost a great artist.  And at the time I wasn't able to express how sad I was with this loss. Prince meant so much to me.  My teenage years were marked with his singing and of course my dancing... not that I danced all that well but I thought so at the time. Anyway when I saw this fabulous digi from Karleigh Sue I knew that I totally HAD to play with it for this tribute. I wanted to have some of the words of one of his song as the sentiment on this... but at the same time the album Purple Rain with that song was just my 1st thought... but the song didn't fit however "When doves cry". I colored the image with my copics.  The background was made with some deli paper that I painted purple then I did some dendritic print on it with white paint and tore those out.  I added some ribbon as well as a spellbinder diecut.  I used some prima chalk paint on the side. I'm entering this layout in the following challenges: Brow

Karleigh Sue Inspiration - Mary Jane

Image
Well it's Monday!!  But the good news is that it's time to share some inspiration for the  Karleigh Sue  .  And this time we are sharing with you some fab makes with the wonderful Mary Janes series. I used the wonderful Stoner Chick .  I soooo wasn't sure on what to do on this post... but then after thinking I thought of the song from the Beatles called Lucy in the sky with diamonds  And here's what I made with this :) The background was done while at a class with silks.  I added a bunch of washi tape as well as some letters.  The sentiment comes from the song and I wrote it on my word document.  I colored the image with my copics. I'm entering this journaling page in the following challenges: Eclectic ellapu  - Anything goes Crafting-with-friends  - anything goes Crafting with an attitude  - anything goes Through the purple haze challenges  - anything goes Southern girls challenge  - Anything goes That's it for me for today!!!  Hope you have

El Gato Dia De Los Muertos - Karleigh Sue

Image
Hello everyone!  I have to share another passion with you all!!!  Right now I just adore making postcards that I can send out to my friends and family.  This is what I'm doing this time for the  Karleigh sue  inspiration blog. The base of those postcards is recycled cereal box!  Super cheap right since it's something that would go to the recycling otherwise.  And since it's a postcard it's much cheaper to mail then an actual card!! When I saw the fabulous image  El Gato Dia De Los Muertos  I knew that this little cat would be fab for a little postcard to send to my grandmother. You can see the little making of this in the following video: And here's the make with the image colored with tritone pencils and polychromos pencil.  The sentiment is a play on word that I did in French and I typed with my brother label maker.  I used a bunch of different stencils as well.  Hope you like it!!! I sure hope my grandmother will like it! I'm entering t

En mass journaling - Miss Terry- Karleigh Sue

Image
Well I'm still at my latest passion of doing En Mass journaling (to know more about this you can check out this group on FB ) but I'm realizing that I can't just put pictures.... I really do need to add the digital images or else it doesn't feel like me!  And I really love to be able to find new ways to share digis!  They can be used in so many other ways than with a card.  The ones from Karleigh Sue are particularly nice for this! This time my page spread was about Fish!!! And well to me that means ocean... and of course you have to have a mermaid.  Yes yes I know they are not fish... but they swim with them right?!?  So the one that I used for this spread is  Miss Terry . And here's the make with the image colored with copics.  The rest is images that I cut out of magazines.  I used some stickers as well and some kids playing cards that I thought were just TOO funny!!!  Hope you like it!!!  I really have so much fun putting those together!  I already h
