More Mixed media - Green

Image
Hello everyone!!!!  It's the month of March and that means that it's time for a new challenge over at  More Mixed media Challenge  and this time around it's all about Green!!!! I was thinking and thinking and thinking again (yeah.... long process :) ) about what I would be doing this month.  I didn't want to do the same thing over and over again.  My dad had found this little glass tray that you use to put a candle.  And that ended up being my inspiration.  I used for this a super cute little digi image from Sassy Cheryl called Bella's Flower . You can see my process in the following video. Now.... I knew what I wanted to do which was to put my mixed media in the bottom and put a top coat on top of it so that it could be used for a candle.  However I didn't have the proper coating stuff for this at home.  So I started 1st using a epoxy glue which turned out to be a gooey disaster. Then I turned to silicone.  But that didn't give quite the look I was

Chilly Willy Bella - Mixed media journal out of the box

Hey folks!!!!  Hope that you are staying safe and warm!!!  It was totally MISERABLE here today (well it's yesterday since I'm posting this the next day...), snow, freezing rain, rain.... Mother nature couldn't make up her mind.... and they are announcing much of the same tomorrow.... I won't tell you how bad the commute was... very very happy not to be traveling much these days to go to work!!!!  Working closer to home is a GODSEND really!!! Anyway this weekend while it was SUPER cold - 21 celcius but about -40 celsius which is the same in Farenheit from what my hubby tells me :) doesn't it make me look bright and intelligent lol anyway.... I made this little journal out of the box with the super cute and fun Chilly Willy Bella from Sassy Cheryl. I have made a little video of my process if you want to check it out. And here's my little journaling.  I'm using one of the sides from a little game piece.  I just love the fact that it totally fits in th

Image
Hello!  It's time for a new challenge over at  More mixed media challenge  and this time it's about RED! How great when you are thinking there's Valentine's day right around the corner.  But for my make that's not what I did :) You can see the video here and see the mistakes in action lol And here's a closer look at the little journaling out of the box The background was made using some brushos, acrylic paint.  The image is from Sassy Cheryl and it's called bad hair day it was colored with my copics.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC and I thought it was just perfect for this. I'm entering this little make in the following challenges: to be done later Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!!!! Hugs

Journal out of the box

Image
Hello!  I had some time to play today (Sunday when I was writing this) and I had purchased some fabulous digis from Sassy Cheryl while she was having the 50% off sale.  I got one that's called Engineer some fun Noah.  Well that totally made me think of my hubby that's an engineer!!!!  So I had to get it! And last friday as a little treat to myself I stopped at a local thrift store and purchased a few items!  I really wanted to make a journal out of a box.  By that I mean that I wanted to have some means to journal but not in a book and more into something that I could put in a box afterwards :)  I found what I was looking for and if you watch my video you will hear more about it! And here's what my 1st make looks like!!!  I used a stencil from Andy Skinner that I purchased this week at my local craft store.  I also used a bunch of different paints from the dollar store, some newspaper that was treated with gesso and sprays as well as some tissue paper.  I finished thi

Recycling and having fun

Image
Hi everyone!  I hope that you are having a fabulous NEW YEAR's EVE.  I spent today having fun and just playing and using some recycling. I have been watching lots of videos on Youtube and wanting to play with new techniques and finally got around to it during the holidays.  I have put some paint on newspapers that I got from my friend Monique Van Dijk to wrap the fab canvas that I purchased from her. I also recycled a bunch of toilet paper rolls :)  Yup it's a great use for all those little rolls!!!  And with a family of 6 I can honestly say that we go through LOTS. You can find the video of the flip through on my Youtube channel here.  And you can purchase my little album in my etsy store here I have used a lot of digi images that I had from Sassy Cheryl.  I went with a theme of flowers because the title of the book is Life in full bloom.  The sentiments on top of the pages are from  Create with TLC .  The ones that are on the tags are stamps from Dylusions. Here a

Last minute Christmas gift ideas

Image
Hello everyone!  OMG I must be out of my mind.... I have so much stuff to do and yet I manage to add more to my pile of things to do.... why you ask?!?  Well just because I figure it won't take me that long... and it will be fun... BUT does it go that way?!?  well not really lol it always ends up being longer than expected and more effort than planned but I do end up with a nice result (most of the time) So this is what happened to me here.  I purchased some Christmas stockings for my colleagues to decorate the office.  Of course I purchased the real type of stockings so once they are hung... well you kinda have to put stuff in them. So I was thinking and thinking and thinking some more about what to do about that.  I figured I would buy a little chocolate ferrero pack for each but that's already 7$+ as well as the stockings.... so couldn't do much more otherwise I'm purchasing too much.  So I figured HEY Christmas is about making stuff... so I can make something!

Bunny bird chat

Image
Oh wow where did the weekend go?!?  I have no clue... I was super busy but it was all fun!!!! I did my very last make for the DT call over at Sassy Cheryl's .  I did a little video of that one as well.  It's one that was kind of different because I had no clue how it would turn out.... I had an idea.... and I just played!  I'm very happy with the result. I used the super cute little Bunny bird chit chat.  I don't think it's in the store anymore but there's lots and right now it's 50% off.... so I got some more lol The background for this was a little wood block that I made cutting down a piece of wood.  I then sanded it down.  This will be one of the little gift that I will be giving to my stepmom.  She really loves rabbits!

Life is too short

And I made a little video to share with you my process of this with you. Here's my little make for my bestie!!!! I used some dylusions paints.  I used a unity stamp to make this little make as well.  I hope you like the process of this.  It was so much fun to make. Calendar creations

Image
Hello!  It's already Sunday night.  oh my.... the weekend just flew by!  But it was totally great. And today I got a newsletter from Sassy Cheryl's to state that she was looking for some designers to help get some inspiration out for her.  I just love love love her digis and I also have quite a few stamps from Krafty Kimmie's.  I got hooked to the digis when I started with the digital world back in 2012 and saw the great Joann Burton use those!  I have to say that my collection grew :) After seeing that it was my inspiration to try my hand at that team.  Don't know if I have a chance of making it but I know for sure that if I don't try I will regret it.  So I'm all about no regret in life and putting myself out there.  And in the process I thought how I had some calendars that I still needed to work on.... and Christmas is coming so I really need to get my act together and make it happen.... I found the perfect image to use for the month of February as wel

Fall is in the air

Image
I finally KICKED my butt and got some of my calendars from the JB5 process where I had done 24 backings finished (well the front part anyway).  And I made a video out of it to share with you.  This time however it's not a fast forward one.... it's one where I actually speak throughout.... So LONG (warning you in advance). Pretty happy 6 done 18 more to go?!? YIKES when will that be done .....anyway.... If I want to have a chance to put the calendars in my Etsy store I need to get going.... plus it's something to keep me busy and hopefully feeling worthy of SOMETHING.... Here's the video that I made if you don't mind hearing me for a long time.... (you can put the speed at double on Youtube btw if you want to hear me in speed version). and here are the pictures of what I did. All the calendars used calendars from here . For this 1st October one the image is from Birdy Brown it was a freebie called Gnome boy fall and unfortunately the store is closed now :(

Half moon Santa

Image
Well Christmas is creeping around around the corner!!!!  And well with the fact that I haven't been well I have decided that we are not going to my family... and we are not doing a Christmas tree.... so we didn't pull out any of our regular decorations  (couldn't find the energy to go through all those boxes for what I would put). I just purchased some new stockings and some hangers and got some lights to go on the mantle and a Christmas wreath... that's all the decorations we have. I have to admit for someone that usually goes over the top (Christmas in every room of the house) this seems quite bare... so I've been making some decorations with digis.  And this is one of them :)  It's unique and since I dated it... will be able to use it in the following years in our tree and remember that we HAVE passed through this together as a family!!!  I'm soooooo grateful for my family and my friends right now.  Don't think I would have been able to go through i

Lulu on the move

Image
So... yesterday while I was taking care of my colorless blender emergency (read previous posts for details) I came across a great set from  Kraftin kimmie stamps Lulu on the move .  It was on sale.... and I had been eyeing that set for awhile so JUST had to get it!  And of course there's a great GDT spot right now for grabs... I've tried before to no avail... but MAYBE this would be my chance?!?  A girl can dream right?  I totally love those stamps.  They were some of the 1st ones that I have used. So here's what I did with one of those fabulous rubber stamps.

Bentley Bear Babysits

Image
I'm back already!!!  And this time it's to play in the great challenge over on FB at  Sassy Cheryl's Neighborhood .  I try to enter as much as possible because well I'm addicted to Sassy Cheryl's image... (all because of Joann) and it just sucks when they just stay in my hard drive and don't get to be colored! So for this card I used the super cute Bentley bear babysit.

Pigtail Gabby

Image
I'm baaaaack!  But I promise this is the last post of the night... well actually there's a preprogrammed post at midnight... but that doesn't count right?!? 'Cause it won't be live... Ok so one of the other image that I colored yesterday and made into a card today is from the awesome  Sassy Cheryl  I have lots of her digi stamps and some actual rubber stamps from Kraftin Kimmies... and I don't get to use them enough!!!  So I really wanted to do so during this vacation and this little cutie Pigtail Gabby had been printed and not colored!  So it was the perfect time to do so and put her on a card today. Mind you... I could have waited to put her on a card because with my camping... there's not a lot of embellishments and everything takes much longer because I have even less room to manoeuvre than at home... but I made one anyway. Because it's summer and I'm on vacation I really wanted a bright and cheerful one! And I think I managed pretty g

Hello there neighbor

Image
Hello everyone!  How was your day?!?  Mine should have been in the pools with the kids since it was Canada day and I was on holiday... but no.... the shower was broken and had to have the plumber over to fix it... ended up costing a fortune!  Good thing the plumber was a cutie!!!!  And I really mean cutie!  So sweet as well... we ended up talking about the kids... he has a little 14mth old one :)  So... no bikini for me... and hubby didn't have to worry lol There was also a fabulous new celebration going on over at  Sassy Cheryl's FB group  and she had a fabulous freebie for the followers!!!  So I ended up playing since I couldn't be in the pool...

She's all ears

I'm back this time to share the little tag that I made for my little niece.  I you follow my blog you have seen here  that my little niece and nephew are having their 2nd b-day coming up really soon.  They are big fans of Mickey mouse!!!  And when I saw the great images from Sassy Cheryl's on sale a few weeks back I thought it was just perfect for them! I shared Sidney's tag before using the fabulous Noah is all ears.  And it's time to share Stella's :D  She doesn't care for Minnie... it's all about Mickey so I colored her up like I would have Mickey :D  Sorry for those of you that think it should be all in the pinks.

Noah is all ears

hee hee hee have I got you intrigued with the title?  Well that's the name of the fabulous digi that I used for this creation!  I totally adore the great digis from  Sassy Cheryls  and well... she always have some sales on Fridays... those are killers as I totally get the digis... it's almost a ritual... a feel good moment for me! Well last week or the week before she had a totally cute little set of digis perfect for a project that I wanted to do!  My little twin niece and nephew are turning 2 in 2 weeks and we are invited to their b-day next weekend!!!! and YIKES!!! it's next weekend.  So I had to get moving with this project.  Their theme for their b-day is Mickey mouse because they are totally into it!  So I got them a little plush Mickey each. And here's the tag that I made for Sidney my little nephew.  I will share the one that I did for Stella at a later time.

Very merry unbirthday!

Image
Yup we celebrate one day a year that you are born!  But what about all the other days?  Shouldn't they be celebrated as well?  So I decided to make an unbirthday card!  I used the very cute Gilbert Shmilbert  image from  Sassy Cheryl .  I've been getting a few when they go on special... can't really afford my addiction otherwise lol.  And I have made a resolution with myself that I would use my images more!  So this was a great opportunity to do so. I also wanted to play with their challenge  Sassy cheryls challenge  which is Dies and/or punches.

Special B-day card!!!

Image
Hello everyone!  Hope you had a great crafting day!!!!  I'm here to share with you a special card that I made for a special boy!!!  I saw this on FB : I am Colin's mom, I created this page for my amazing, wonderful, challenging son who is about to turn 11 on March 9th. Because of Colin's disabilities, social skills are not easy for him, and he often acts out in school, and the other kids don't like him. So when I asked him if he wanted a party for his birthday, he said there wasn't a point because he has no friends. He eats lunch alone in the of fice everyday because no one will let him sit with them, and rather than force someone to be unhappy with his presence, he sits alone in the office. So I thought, if I could create a page where people could send him positive thoughts and encouraging words, that would be better than any birthday party. Please join me in making my very original son feel special on his day. It totally got to me because I have 4 kids and I kn
